Dr Raka Maitra
Raka Maitra is training as a child adolescent psychiatrist. She is currently working on structural phenotypes of adolescents with psychotic like experiences in the IMAGEN dataset. She was a Marie Curie Fellow in Neuroimaging in The EU Twins Study in Schizophrenia. She obtained her MD (res) in Psychiatry from University of Jena, Germany. She was a visiting researcher at Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, Melbourne, Australia. She received the first prize in neuroscience at National Brain research Institute, India and The Florence Nichols prize for the best outgoing student in Psychiatry, CMC Vellore, India.
She enjoys teaching and was a teaching fellow for the module Psychology and Neuroscience of Psychosis, MSc Mental health studies at KCL. She currently teaches formulation tutorials for MSc Mental health studies and is an internal supervisor for MSc Organisational Psychiatry and Psychology, KCL.

Dr Maitra received The British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) 2020 award for supporting junior international doctors stranded during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr Maitra was nominated as part of the 25 Women In Psychiatry project by the Women and Mental Health Special Interest Group at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. You can read about this here.
