Dr Evangelos Papanastasiou
Evangelos Papanastasiou was a PhD candidate at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). A psychiatrist by training, he left clinical practice in 2015 to join the pharmaceutical industry and intends to pursue a career as a pharmaceutical physician. He has a clinical and research experience of more than 15 years (four years in clinical research in CNS, seven years in psychiatry, one year in neurology and three years in general medicine). His research at the IoPPN focuses on the field of prodromal psychosis and the investigation of pre-psychotic phenotypes by employing functional neuroimaging. As a pharmaceutical physician, he has developed a broader interest in CNS, and has worked in the fields of cognition and addiction. Evangelos hold a medical degree (MD), an MSc in Cognitive Neuropsychology and a Specialty Qualification in General Adult Psychiatry. He has certifications in psychopharmacology (BAP), and is a certified psychometric and neurocognitive rater as an investigator in pharma-sponsored phase III RCTs. In 2015 he joined the Pharmaceutical Medicine Specialty Training.
