Dr Cristina Martinelli

Cristina Martinelli is an NIHR-BRC Postdoctoral Bridging Award Research Fellow at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), and a lecturer at Kingston University. She completed her BSc and MSc in Psychology at LUMSA University and a DClinPsych at La Sapienza University in Rome. She then completed an MSc in Clinical Psycholoy at the University of Sussex, followed by an NIHR-BRC funded PhD at the IoPPN. Cristina is an experimental psychologist with research interests in the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying mental health issues. She uses a combination of behavioural paradigms, neuroimaging techniques and computational modelling to investigate the mechanisms that go awry in psychopathology. Her current research concerns Salience Processing in Schizophrenia.
