Daniel Lai
Daniel Lai completed his BSc in Psychology at Bangor University where his passion for research and mental health was cultivated. His interest in circadian health developed during his MSc in Organisational Psychiatry and Psychology (OPP) at King’s College London. Daniel’s MSc dissertation was part of a validation study of the Caen Chronotype Questionnaire (CCQ). His thesis explored the incremental validity of the CCQ subjective amplitude dimension in predicting depressive symptoms among the UK working population.
His PhD is funded by the Applied Research Collaborative in Kent, Sussex, and Surrey (ARC KSS) under the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). His project collaborates with Intensive Care Units (ICU) in the KSS region and aims to explore relationships between the 3 domains of Post Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) and circadian health among early post-discharge intensive care patients (0-3 months). The pilot eHealth protocol aims to identify key circadian health markers to signpost rehabilitation interventions at 3 months post discharge.
